Fundraising
Who is The Lady Garden Foundation?
The Lady Garden Foundation is a national women’s health charity, raising awareness and funding for gynaecological health.
The Lady Garden Foundation was co-founded by a team of inspirational women who had all either directly or indirectly been affected by gynaecological cancers. They wanted to make a difference and thus The Lady Garden was born. The Co-Founding committee is Astrid Harbord, Chloe Delevingne, Jenny Halpern Prince, Josephine Daniel, Mika Simmons and Tamara Beckwith Veroni.
We started in 2014 and initially funded ground-breaking research into the treatment of these cancers at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. As the oldest cancer hospital in the world, The Royal Marsden remains one of the largest cancer centres in Europe, with a truly global impact.
The money raised by the Lady Garden Foundation funded cutting-edge studies which we hope will revolutionise the treatment of these cancers. We continue to raise funds and awareness for gynaecological health. Read more on our website.
How do I start fundraising on JustGiving?
When you sign up to The Lady Garden 2022 Challenge an online fundraising page will be automatically created for you with a target of £200 (but you can increase this if you like!).
To make the most of your page, we recommend you:
- Add a photo
- Set a target – we know that pages with targets raise more
- Complete the ‘About me’ section – tell people why you’re supporting The Lady Garden 2021 Challenge
- Share your page – as far and as wide as you can using email, WhatsApp and social media, and ask your friends and family to sponsor you
- Update – keep updating your page after each run to keep your donors updated on your progress
How do I pay in my sponsorship money?
All donations made on the page are automatically sent to The Lady Garden Foundation so all you need to do is keep sharing that page to help you reach your target!
If you do receive cash donations or a cheque, please email info@ladygardenfoundation.com.
Taking part
Do I have to do the full distance in one go?
Definitely not if you don’t want to! You can run, jog, walk, crawl, scoot, cycle, or complete the distance any way you want to and break it down in any way you wish to as well. It’s completely up to you how you complete the distance.
How do I log my miles?
The easiest way to do this is to track them using a fitness map, such as Strava. You can link your Strava account to your Just Giving page using the ‘Connect to Strava’ button on your Just Giving page. You can find a handy how to guide here.
If you wish to use another tracking device such as a Fitbit or the iPhone health app, that’s also fine – just remember to manually log your miles on your fundraising page so your supporters know when you’ve reached your target distance!
Can I take part as part of a team?
Yes! You can choose to take part in the 250km team challenge! Once you have signed up and created your personal JustGiving page, you can then create a JustGiving team page too. When your friends, family or colleagues sign up, they can connect their fundraising page to your team.
How do I log which challenge I am completing?
When you register you will be asked what your fitness goal is. Here is where you can enter 50km, 100km or 250km depending on which challenge you are completing. If you are completing 250km as a team please see the question regarding taking part as a team under ‘Taking Part’.
